Typo during sign in caused me to show my age as 16 instead of 26, how do I correct it ?

OK, I admit I was confused when I tried to create an account and that confusion led me to type in my date of birth with an error that shows my age as 16 instead of my correct age of 26.  So how can I correct that oversight?    And before doing this I went to my account and tried to delete the account but apparently that does not work either :(

Changing the date of birth via the support is possible, but it takes a long time and you would need send in some kind of proof to them. Deleting the account should work, no matter how long you have it. They will close the account not at once, they will close after checking your account as said here: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Accounts-overview/ta-p/700019#Section_.3.1

But you can make a new account at any time and give the right data this time
